NOSTALGIA

Washington, DC

Thinking back to the summer right before starting medical school. I was soo happy and excited. Most of all, I was at peace because I was no longer striving to get in! I could finally breathe and enjoy the present.

I only had 2 weeks after ending my job in London, before starting Medical school. I surprised my family and friends in the US to share the good news. I ate at all my favourite places, discovered new favourite places, and just had fun spending time with my friends and family. Most importantly, I rested.

As some of you embark on this journey into medical school, I encourage you to REST and ENJOY THIS SUMMER or whatever time you have before you start. Yes, do all the paperwork but spend time with family and friends. 1st semester/MS1 can be quite an adjustment for different reasons (e.g. homesick, adjusting to the workload, new surroundings, making friends etc) so its so important to fill up your cup during this time.

So happy resting and making memories. All the best as you prepare for starting MS1.

📩 How are you enjoying time before starting MS1? Feel free to ask any questions you may have.
