PRESENT

Bridgetown, Barbados

It's funny how you get so caught up in where you're trying to go you that forget to be present at the moment and take in the beauty of the season that you're in.

I wish I enjoyed MS1 more instead of being constantly consumed with the fear of failure. I wish I made more of an effort to explore and enjoy what Barbados had to offer or made more fun memories with my classmates.

While Medical school can be all-consuming in the day to day, it’s important to stop and smell the roses from time to time. I encourage you to take the time to still nurture your hobbies and passions. So that when we look back on this time, you can be glad we lived it to the fullest and made awesome memories at each stage.

Here's to stopping and being still. To making time to marvel at sunsets and starry night skies. To sharing fun times and laughter with classmates and to enjoy being on the path to fulfilling your dreams of becoming a physician.

Endeavour to make the most of and enjoy each season for what it is. No matter how busy, scary, stressful or overwhelming medical school may be.
